Odin watches over Gjöll

This illustration took a very long time to complete. A big reason for that was that I experimented a lot of time with different brush options and textures, as I tried to advance and progress on my artstyle. But besides that, I also tried to put a little story into the picture of course, as can be seen by Odins staff (pardon, spear) connecting from the godly world beyond into our own reality, touching upon a funeral boat, as he chooses the worthy to enter Valhäll. Fom the boat, a fiery rider, a Valkyrie, emerges, as she takes the dead person with her to join Odin in Valhöll. I portrayed one of the ravens in a golden color, to emphasize on his role as a being coming from a higher plane of existece, whereas the other raven, sitting on top of Odins staff, is portrayed in a common color scheme, as they are natural beings in this "supernatural" plane. Also I tried to give his visible wing the shape of a spear blade, to hint at the staffs secret form and use.
