Deep Ones

"We shall swim out to that brooding reef in the sea and dive down through black abysses to Cyclopean and many-columned Y’ha-nthlei, and in that lair of the DEEP ONES we shall dwell amidst wonder and glory for ever."
Contrary to most iterations, I wanted to portray the Deep Ones as some kind of happy family portrait. As it is with the end of The Shadow over Innsmouth tale, (SPOILER) the protagonist at the end actually seems to embrace his Deep One nature, and I wanted to reflect that. Instead of trying to fright the viewer, the front character actually demonstrates an inviting gesture. Since these beings start out as humans and metamorphose over time into these creatures, there are still many human-like features like five fingered hands and human muscle structure, however, the legs seem to have completely transformed into big fin-like appendages, which give them incredible speed and agility underwater.
