Rómestámo the Blue Wizard

Romestamo, one of the two blue wizards from Tolkiens legendarium, who would later be renamed by Tolkien to Palando. Because Tolkien nowadays is also a lot associated with movies, thanks to the trilogy, I thought that it would be cool to apply an actual actors facial features to the character. For this role I chose japanese actor Ken Watanabe, who is known for his roles in The Last Samurai and the Godzilla 2014 and 2019 movies. In my view, he has all the range that a wizard in Tolkiens world should bring with him, from stern, hardened demeanor to a more soft and warm hearted grace. Because it is stated in Tolkiens unfinished work that the blue wizards went into the east, I decided to include a little easter egg that hints at their journey and that is the battle helmet of Khamul the Easterling, a ruler in the east who would later be corrupted by the one Ring and become a Nazgul in service of Sauron. The ornamentation on his clothing is inspired by japanese culture, and his staff is a silverish glowing counterpart to the golden one of Morinehtar, possibly being a homage to the Trees of Valinor that shone in a silver and golden light respectively.

without beard concept, I'm still not sure if I got the actors face right though
