Morinehtar the Blue Wizard

Just like with Romestamo, I strongly wanted to portray the character of Morinehtar with an actors appearance and at the time of this illustration, The Tragedy of Macbeth, with Denzel Washington in the title role was what convinced me to give him the role of this illusive wizard (and because I would absolutely love seeing Ken and Denzel playing it off onscreen together). Because the blue wizards story after their disappearance into the east is very fragmented and the only secured statements there are is that they had «great infleunce during their time in the east», and that they were able to decimate the powers of evil before eventually getting corrupted and founding dark cults themselves, I knew Denzel would have that range of being wise and powerful but also cunning and deceptive at the same time, which I thought would fit such a character and scenario perfectly. His gear consists of a Palantir, a seeing stone, of which it‘s said there are only few and their locations unknown (same as the blue wizards basically, so there‘s that similarity in it) and a golden staff, which I consider to be a counterpart to Romestamo‘s silver staff, which both could be a remembrance to the shining Trees of Valinor. His cloak ornamentation is heavily inspired by african Dashiki shirts.

American actor Denzel Washington as Morinehtar, one of the Blue Wizards from Tolkiens legendarium. This was inspired by his performance as MacBeth, would really love to see more PoC actors in mostly typical caucasian roles. And Denzel never misses anyway.

Without beard concept, I think I got this face pretty much on point
